For some time I have believed in the idea that when possible, it is useful and interesting to actually do the tasks we set for our students - literally and alongside them. It gives me the insight on relative difficulty of the task, how long it takes to complete, steps I have to take to achieve it and a general feel for the lesson and activity from the students perspective (and even literal position - if there's a free desk I'll go and do it among them too). Atm my students are researching a band or artist of their choice to give a presentation or speech to the class next week, so I decided to do it too, both in order to experience it with them and to record it to use as a resource. This recording was my first take and only to the camera. Since I recorded it I have done it twice now to two different classes and I must admit, I was nervous and fidgety - just like them!
